Hearing that the next SWADE Campaign is set during the Victorian era with the main focus of the party to set up a stage play based on „King in Yellow“ I knew I wanted to play a litte cheeky british boy that knows his way around the streets of London.

My first concept of William

It quickly came to me to make William a girl in disguise! He wears a flat cap accessoried with steam-punk glasses to hide his hair. The little lad wears according to the time a shirt with suspensers, straight shorts and big leather boots that are almost too big for him. Originally he also wore a big coat but I scrapped this idea.

I liked the idea of him having a cut ear as a symbolism of him being a „Foundling“ as him being marked like cattle. I gave him freckles to appear more the young and childish nature and to identify myself more with him. I also liked the idea of crooked teeth to make him more „imperfect“ as the old times did not allow the regular folk to worry about their appearance too much.
